DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)

DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) is a comprehensive program offering individual therapy, telephone consultation and a DBT skills group.  The focus of DBT is to improve the quality of one’s life and to decrease destructive behaviors that have been causing a variety of problems that may include self-harm, significant suicidal thinking, extreme mood swings, substance abuse, relationship turmoil, etc..

I am a founding member of Greater Portland DBT which offers comprehensive DBT programming to adults and adolescents.  In 2021, I became the first person in Maine to be a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™.

Supervision, Consultation and Training

Since graduating with a master’s in clinical social work in 1996, I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings.  I have supervised numerous MSW interns and current practicing clinicians.  I feel my breadth of knowledge, advanced training and clinical experience can be very helpful and energizing to the new clinical student, a seasoned practitioner or the general public at large.

If you are interested in ongoing clinical supervision,  consultation on a particular clinical issue or training specific to DBT, I would be happy to offer my services.
